Computers and Laptops

PC Workstations:

There are over 450 networked PC workstations in the Libraries for students and researchers to use for academic purposes*.

In the Chancellor Oppenheimer Library, there are workstations on Main Level, Upper Level, in the Research Commons, and in the Knowledge Commons.

Facilities for laptop users:

Wireless hotspots are distributed throughout the Libraries, enabling laptop users to access the internet and the UCT network.

Many study tables are equipped with power sockets and network points for connecting to the network by cable.

How to connect your laptop to the UCT network:

Please follow the instructions given on the Networking pages of the ICTS web site.

If you need assistance you can contact ICTS or ask the staff at the Information Desk to help you.
